To become a member, copy the Membership Form above into Word, fill it out and send to us as an attachment. Button toward the bottom of this page

 and follow each of these steps

  1. Copy the form above and paste it into a word processing program such as Word or Goggle Docs 

2.  Fill out the form.

3. Go to the Membership Payments page and make a payment for the appropriate amount.

4. Attach the Membership form to an email to us.

 

(After you pay you will be sent an email receipt/notification. Please, take a screen shot of this to include as an attachment along with the e-mail containing your filled out form.)

4. Proceed to the Contact Us/ e-mail page.

5. Send us an e-mail which includes an attached, filled-out registration form 

and the screen shot of your payment notification as attachments.

Bespoke Poets of Louisiana

Mission:   The Poetry Society of Louisiana (Hereafter referred to as p.S.O.L . and pronounced with a silent P – “sol”/ ”soul”) exists to foster, generate and promote literary excellence and the role of poetry in the life of Louisiana’s diverse communities. With an ear tuned to vivid effect, fullness of thought, emotional dynamism, language that brims, p.S.O.L. intends to employ readings, publications, contests, community outreach and an interactive presence on the web to achieve these ends.

Membership Benefits

      • Lovers of poetry and poets can gain and share news about Louisiana Poets – their publications, activities and upcoming events.

      • Poets get free submissions to seasonal broadsides.
      • Members can get free advertising for recently release books. Just send us a photograph of the cover along with a book blurb and a short bio. You may also include a head short of the author.
      • Upon joining each new member receives a list of Louisiana based Presses, a list of Louisiana pass Magazines and Zines & a “Poetic License” form.

      • Poets gain a network frame for inter-communication between poets and writers throughout the state.

      • Poets can advertise upcoming readings or events on a statewide basis as well as to announce recent releases of books, poems, reviews and articles.

      • Poets receive reduced or free fee (no greater than $10.00) into any P.S.O.L .  sponsored contest.

      • Lovers of poetry and poets can access a site for reading and posting reviews of books released by Louisiana poets and authors.

      • Poets can access links to Louisiana based publishing houses and magazines as well of listings by area of sites that host poetry events.

      • Members are given one’s very own, true-blue, put-you-on-the-good-foot, P.S.O.L . -approved, impunity-conferring, self- printable, friend-&-bar-mate-WOWING  Poetic License good for one full calendar year from date of payment of initial and/or annual dues.
